Tokyo-2001: Scanning Probe Microscopy, Sensors and Nanostructures

Call for Papers

General Session on Scanning Probe Microscopy

Dear SPM, Cantilever sensor, and Nanostructure friends,

We would like to invite everyone to attend Tokyo-2001 a conference on Scanning Probe Microscopy, sensors, and nanostructures being held May 27 to 31, 2001, in Makuhari, Japan. Accessing this web site gives you information on how to submit your abstract, register for the conference, and make your hotel accommodation reservations. We strongly encourage early submission of abstracts and registration. We have divided the call for papers up into different sessions with this being the general SPM session.

The Tokyo symposium will provide an ideal occasion to present novel discoveries in theory, instrumentation, and application of scanning probe microscopes. This will include scanning tunneling, atomic force, magnetic, chemical, thermal, and near field optical microscopy. Applications of scanning probe techniques should emphasize studies of adsorbates as well as physical and chemical properties at solid surfaces. Topics of interest include studies of imaging of whole cells and biomolecules, processes on metal, semiconductors, and other solid surfaces.

Please feel free to contact any of the organizers whose primary responsibility is this general SPM session. Also note the call for papers in the Cells and Bio-Membranes, Nanostructures, and Sensors sessions. SEE YOU IN TOKYO.

Yours sincerely,
