さまざまな分野の研究者が集まりLESのモデルや計算法などの情報交換を行う場として、2008年9月にLES研究会が発足いたしました。現在2ヶ月に1回、東大生研にて研究会を開いています。LESに興味をお持ちの研究者、学生の方のご参加をお待ちしております。また研究会についてご質問ご要望がありましたら世話人までお知らせください。

「Application of GAN to Wall-Modeled LES Using Local Flow Information and Its Performance Evaluation」

Turbulent wall-bounded flows are essential in engineering, but expensive to resolve all the essential scales of turbulence at high Reynolds numbers. To address this, wall models have been developed including recent machine learning approaches that avoid traditional assumptions. Meanwhile, even recent models still face challenges with generality and often require the entire near-wall velocity data as input. This study proposes a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN)-based wall model for Wall-Modeled Large Eddy Simulation (WMLES) based on local velocity information. We will demonstrate that the proposed model is able to predict well not only the mean velocity profile, but also statistics of velocity fluctuations near the wall.
