IIS welcomes a large number of foreign researchers and international students from all over the world. Japanese classes and counseling services are provided to support their daily lives and research activities. International exchange meetings are also held to promote the understanding of diverse cultures.

International Exchange Events

In collaboration with Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), IIS organizes International Exchange Events in autumn to connect foreign researchers and students with Japanese staffs, researchers and students in Komaba Research Campus.

Japanese Language Course

For those who will study Japanese along with their research activities, the Center for the Japanese Language Education provides Japanese courses in Komaba Research Campus.

International Mixers

In collaboration with Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), IIS organizes international exchange events several times per year to connect foreign researchers and students with Japanese staff, researchers and students on Komaba Research Campus.

International Gathering - Cultural Interactions at Komaba Research Campus –

At lunchtime, people from Japan and around the world come together to swap stories and exchange opinions. The international gathering is a lunch event, which was first organized during the winter semester in 2011. Now, it is held from noon until two o’clock every Tuesday.
