Education system of IIS for Foreign Students at IIS can be categorized as below
1. Graduate students (Masters and Doctors degree)
For programs leading to a masters or doctors degree, students should enroll in the Division of Science, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.
2. Research students
Students may join a laboratory (research group) as a research student which does not award a post graduate degree. In this case, students may enroll in either
Ι. Division of Science, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo or
ΙΙ. Directly at IIS
Students wishing to enroll either as graduate or research students should have a bachelor's degree in the field of intended study. There will be a preliminary screening for which the applicants will be asked to submit their school and degree certificates
The professors of Engineering and Science Division at IIS are in charge of the lectures as well as supervising the research of their graduate students. To enter the Graduate school, students should take the entrance examination which consist of a written examination and an interview.
For the students applying for Graduate School, Civil Engineering department, a separate entrance process has to be followed. For information on application procedure and scholarships please contact the Foreign Students Office (F.S.O)
The entrance examination is held as the number of applicants are high compared to the limit of space available for students. For more details, contact the Foreign students application request counter.
