This research group focuses on comfort and its application to various engineering fields. Members with a background in architecture, mechanical engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, ecological psychology, and bio-functional systems work in cooperation with each other in the institute. Topics dealing with space design, air-conditioning, acoustics, lighting in architectural space and vehicles, and vibration control in vehicles are being investigated.
Our research aims at establishing a model that would help explain the relationship between human behavior and senses, and developing a method for designing such a model and evaluating its functions. We are engaged in collaborative research with industry to perform evaluations of vehicle comfort. Moreover, we organize seminars about comfort.
