Flood risk uncertainties assessed at the global scale
Flood risk uncertainties assessed at the global scale

Researchers from the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo have explored uncertainties in flood hazard mapping at the global scale. They found that the majority of uncertainties were associated with runoff input data, which is especially sparse over some regions of the world such as Africa. Model calibration efforts are needed in future with advanced techniques such as remote sensing data over under-served regions of the world.
