Microvasculature on a chip for non-invasive live imaging of angiogenesis
Microvasculature on a chip for non-invasive live imaging of angiogenesis

The research group of Lecturer Yukiko Matsunaga at the University of Tokyo, Institute of Industrial Science, succeeded in constructing an artificial three-dimensional (3D) microvasculature on a microdevice chip for an in vitro angiogenesis model. The model was observed non-invasively by stage-top type optical coherence tomography (OCT) system from a collaboration with SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd. The system allows to capture the 3D structure of various tissues as well as vasculature easily and rapidly.
