1995年7月16〜21日の6日間,シドニー(オーストラリア)のニューサウスウェールズ大学(University of New South Wales)にて開催された、WCTR会議(World C onference on Transport Research)の報告、ならびに会議の行われたシドニーを中心とした以下に示すようなオーストラリアの自動車交通事情を紹介する。・シドニーでは朝夕のピーク時を中心に交通渋滞が発生していること。・日本と比較してかなり交通量は少ないので,信号交差点の信号サイクルは全体的に短く抑えられていること。・交通需要マネージメント(Travel Demand Management)の必要性が高まり,トランジットレーン設置による公共交通の充実,相乗り推進,自転車通勤の推奨,公共交通情報の提供などさまざまなTDMの試みが開始されつつあること。

Lifeline systems such as water and sewerage, gas , electricpower,telecommunication and transportation damaged by earthquake, specially due to the Northridge Earthquake and the Hanshin AwajiEarthquake were pr esented there. The importance of opeing damagedinformation to public and the r edundancy of lifeline were recognizedagain. The Geographic Informetion Systems are used widely in this field.

パラメータ変動に関する有限要素解析結果の区間推定の定式を提示する。そ の定式は有限要素感度解析とLagrange 乗数法に基づいている。パラメータ変 動による応答変動を一次近以し、またパラメータ変動は1個の凸包内に限定さ れる場合を取り扱い、凸包境界上に現れる着目応答の最大値と最小値を Lagrange 乗数法により探索する。真直な弾性棒の縦振動で弾性係数と質量密 度が不確定である場合の数値計算例により定式の妥当性を示す。

近代的な漁業では、漁船で航走しながら所定の水深の水温を計測することが 重要である。このため測温センサーを取り付けた曳航体が用いられる。この様 な曳航体は一般に高価となり、又その実用的設計法は明らかにされていない。 そこで、鋼製平板を加工し所定の揚力を発生する低廉な曳航体を試作し、安定 な姿勢を保つ仕組みを明らかにする為に、曳航索,曳航体の簡単なシミュレー ションモデルを定め、回流水槽実験,実海域試験を行って、曳航体の実用的設 計法を提示した。

コンクリートの製造時に際しては、骨材の表面水率をはじめとして不確定な要 因が多数存在し、それらはコンクリートの品質に大きく影響を及ぼす。これに 対して、我々はコンクリートの品質を管理する手法として、ニューラルネット ワークを用いたシステムを提案した。しかし現システムは季節変動に対する適 用性がなかったため、本研究によってその汎用性の向上を目指した。

The factors ,which are the ration of aggregates surface-water , temperature and s o on, influence the quality of concrete in making concrete. To solve this problem, we proposed "Quality control system of concrete using neural network". But this system can n ot apply to all seasons, because we make this system using summer data. In this res earch , to apply to all seasons, we improve this system by considering season-factor.

A formulation is proposed for interval estimation of the finite element soluti on in problems of parameter change. The formulation is based on the finite eleme nt sensitivity analysis with respect to change of the structural parametere whic h are supposed to be variable and exist inside a convex hul, and the lagrange mu ltiplier method for the search of the maximum and minimum, whose difference is t he interval, of the responese under interest. The numerical example of longitudinal vibration of a straight, elastic bar shows the validity of the proprsed method in regard to uncertain resilience and mass.
Modern fisheries require to measure water temperature at a certain water depth o n a fishing vessel with forward speed, using underwater towed vehicle similar to an underwater kite attached by a temperature sensor. This kind of a towed vehic le is usually expensive and there has been no practical design method proposed f or this type of a towed vehicle yet. Therefore we designed a reasonable price un derwater towed vehicle made of steel plate with an enough lift force and we prop osed a practical design method for this kind of an underater towed vehicle which has enough static and dynamic stability based on a simple but practical simulation model for a towing line and a towed vehicle, after we carried out model test s in a circulating water channel and full scale experiments.
